The Plan

So how do we plan on crossing the United States? As cheaply as possible.

Our goal is to make it all the way across camping wherever we can. It's free to camp in national forests away from developed areas unless otherwise posted, so ideally we'd like to camp in national forests as often as possible. When we can't make it to a national forest, most states do not consider using unmarked, unfenced,and unposted land trespassing, so that's our backup.

Ok so sleeping is free, what about everything else? We will need to buy decent touring bikes, whatever camping gear we don't have and food. We are still discussing our budget for all this, and will include a gear/price breakdown in future updates.
